The 1968 (maybe other yrs as well) vacuum lines used for the swing-away/tilt steering call for a green and white hose. I have seen this type of original hose once and it had two solid parallel lines (one green and one white) running the length of the line and provided engine vacuum to operate the under dash vacuum motor. My car no longer has this correct vacuum hose and was wondering if anyone has located a supplier/source for these hoses. Any details would be great.

Need samples, at least 2 different for 1967, 1968, and 1969. I am pretty sure that there are diagrams for the stripe color. Need ID, OD, and all lengths. If they are joined or not, stripe dimensions, etc.
I have a guy that reproduces my Cougar headlight vacuum hoses. He is more than willing, although I wish that he would improve his stripe adhesion to the rubber.
Tim and Coral Snake may have a 1968 in the works?

Scott here is a sample from our 68 GT350 built 12-02-67. Let me know if you could use it. I really need two sets of these hoses.

I believe these hoses are correct. Unfortunately I do not have any samples to send.
Some years ago, I was told this same hose was used in other fords in the 80's and could be found in junk yards...can anyone confirm this hose was used in other ford models?

There are 3 different variations of striping patterns for 68. Most common is 1/8" aqua, 1/16" white. Nobody makes it. Been trying for 7 years to have it made even offering to fund the project. Still trying but dont hold your breath

I agree with TLEA. If your waiting for West Coast Cougars don't hold your breath. It's not personal-just based on MY experience with this project. I really hate to be cynical, but after years of knocking on doors, it's hard not to be. Especially, when you are offering to bankroll the project. I have had several people email me saying WCC can make them. I sent WCC drawings, samples and dimensions more than a year ago. I would be interested to know why that never went anywhere?
I have contacted half a dozen companies since then, with no luck. Several of those currently make colored vacuum lines for other car lines.
I would also say the hoses have a lot of variation. The two variations pictured above are atypical in my opinion.

to do them right, we need the whole vacuum hose set. Length is critical. ;-)

Actually each car uses about ten feet of hose. If you made 11 feet in one continuous run, each owner could cut the two lengths he needs and have enough.
They are both straight runs with no "T"s or splices.

Scott, with Marty's sample for determining hose size, color, and design it would seem that if you have the capability, this should be fairly straight forward.
On this thread alone, we're good for at least 4 sets of 11-12 foot lengths...almost a 50 ft run. And I'd be willing to purchase at least one extra set just to make sure I have a spare for the next project. How many feet would you need to produce to make this worthwhile for your efforts??? Let's try to figure this out....I know there's a market for this unavailable part.

I would bet if the word got out there were line sets available there could be 50 set in the first run.
I thought Jack Brooks of Dead Nuts On was going to make them two or three years ago.
