1967 1968 rear seat divider and package tray underlayment
« on: February 01, 2023, 12:56:54 AM »
I know this may be a really hard find...but looking for a nice useable rear seat divider and the underlayment used under the package tray of a 1968 coupe.  This is for a project we are building now.  I think 67 and 68 could possibly be the same.  Showing pictures of the unrestored 68 I have in the shop as a reference.  If anyone has anything let me know.

Regarding in particular, the rear seat divider:

* I am curious if they are indeed the same, 67 & 68.
* I see the dimples (similar to the firewall pad) in this 68 unrestored example.
1.) Is this example a San Jose example?
2.) Is it possible that other suppliers were used, like as with the firewall pads?

I cant say for sure the 67 and 68 pads are identical, but I am assuming as fit and function they would be the same because of the same body style.
The reference photos here are from a San Jose built coupe.  Its possible, like with so many other things, there was more than one supplier.  I dont think enough is known on the coupes so at this point still seeing whats available out there.  Feel free to add photos if you have seen something different.

From the ones I've seen the divider rear facing surface is different from 67 and 68 San Jose built cars but will interchange. Don't recall if all 68 SJ dividers are from the same supplier. Don't recall the finish on my Calif Specials at the moment and I didn't get a good picture of it it seems

Here is the felt divider in our 68 unrestored SJ HCS. It is worn but has the same bump pattern. Finding useable dividers and package tray insulation is like finding the holy grail. They were the first stop for the mice.
