68 AC San Jose firewall pad & Carpet underlayment pattern wanted
« on: September 14, 2019, 11:49:41 PM »
Hi guys,

Being in Australia makes it difficult to find the thrown away parts that make a car original. This is definitely the case for my firewall pad.

Does anyone have contacts for people who may be able to find and send me a San Jose fire wall pad for a 68 with auto and AC?

If anyone in the US can help it would be much appreciated.

I also had someone make a paper pattern on the under carpet padding, but it didn't arrive... Has anyone got details on this?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

You might want to check with 68 Cougar owners (cars built at San Jose), shops and yards also.  Just widening your scope a bit to increase the possible donors for your firewall pad need.

No matter the year original firewall pads are difficult to find in usable form - for many of the years San Jose being the most difficult though conditions help keep them better in the south west than other parts of the country.

Good luck with the search

Thanks Jeff. Its not a thing I can do on my own from here. I very much doubt I'd be able to find something on the cars available here...

If anyone knows a friend of a friend who might know a guy... please get in touch.
