Heat shield on Autolite 4300 ?
« on: March 30, 2020, 07:47:27 AM »
Hi,
which heat shield is required on a carburetor Autolite 4300 C9ZF D (470cfm)
There were also some without the head shield?
Is the heat shield on the picture the correct one?

Car:
1969 Mach 1 351W with FMX, H-code convert to 4V (03/11/69 at SJ)

Thanks in advance!!!

Harry

Sorry can't view your attached picture

does it look like either of the two below. Sorry for the poor pictures. Just what I could find in the time allowed at the moment

Often not on cars, possibly something like battery shields that were tossed/removed when the carb was worked on

Hello Jeff,
my carburetor looks like your 2nd picture, but without the braket for the heater-hose. The heat-stove is in the middle of the choke-cap.
I try it again to post my picture, hope it's work.

Greatings

See it now.

The picture I grabbed was for the shield installed. The chock cover you have is the same/similar design  as I've seen on many 69 351W and 390 4300 applications
