But I will take any starter that has DOTF on it with the correct date and change the snout.  So the application does not matter................

Regardless of snout you do know that besides the prefix of DOTF (typically a truck part) there is a engineering number suffix as in A, B , C, etc. don't you?  That different suffix can completely change what the application is for.
