I have been trying to locate a correct radio for my 1969 Mach I 428 CJ show unit restoration. Seems even the high dollar ones on Ebay have an issue with the tuning scale face plate. I have heard art one time someone was reproducing these and the source dried up. Picked up a couple on the cheep side (non-working) to experiment on how to replace the clear 'plastic' face plate with the dial scale(s).
Figured out the correct materials and fabrication method to reproduce these.
My question to the group is how often is a cracked/faded/just plain icky face plate an issue for these old radios and what's it worth to get a digital reproduction of the correct thickness/size with the correct scale(s) etched on the inside?
