Hi I am looking for the approximate build date for my 63A. It was originally a Honey Gold exterior with an Ivy interior. There is no data plate and most of the parts have mid to late January date stamps on panels and mechanicals. I have removed three layers of Red paint one with white stripes and have had to replace almost all of the metal on the car. The roof was good as was the cowl and front rails. amazingly the floors were in decent shape too. It is going into epoxy then paint next month. It has been out of my garage for 10 months and should be back home by the end of September. It is back in it's original Honey Gold but I decided to go with a black standard interior vs the Ivy. Was going to go with a Fibreglass hood but decided to go with the steel and not turn it into a clone.
Want to say also how helpful the members and the site are to the success of the project. You all have provided so much helpful info even if I am not restoring to original I am really looking forward to having my car back.
If anyone has any idea on approximate build dates it would be greatly appreciated. Most of what I can tell you as to what the car was originally is as follows. It is a 1965 Fastback C code car with a Honey Gold exterior with a C4 Cruise-O-Matic, standard brakes and power stearing (Eaton). Standard interior Ivy Gold seats (had original piece tucked in velour seats) with full console. Steering column was Ivy as was the back (facing trunk) of the rear folding seat. It also has the smaller 7.75 pinion set in the 8" rear end which decoded as a 2.80:1 C20W-4025-F dated 5A28 thinking WCZ-E non-locking 7.75" dated 5A24
Thanks
John
