Mustang service stickers
« on: June 03, 2025, 12:33:38 PM »
Helo....

I searched the forum but unfortunately I didn't find it. I would like to put service stickers on my 1967 Mustang sedan. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere exactly where each sticker should be stuck.

If you have photos I would be very very grateful.

Thank you very much for your understanding and help.

exactly what do you mean by 'service stickers'? what engine do you have? may make a difference.

First welcome to the site. Hope you find the help and support you need for  your concours related projects

A few suggestions since you may have missed these.

Please in every request include when and where your car was built. You can do this by adding a signature that way its there automatically every time you post. It really helps from having to answer those questions before you get a useful response to your questions.

For your specific question.

Not sure if your asking about the one service decal or sticker or all of the engine compartment decals

For the service decal it depends on what year and what plant the car was built at and also in some cases if the car had air conditioning so include that.

As for other decals most of the engine decal sill be shared, since all of the engines of the same size were built at the same engine plant but all the locations of the other will or could differ depending on what car plant and when (month of production can help) the car was completed. That is the date that you can get from a Marti report. The door tag scheduled date often is not good enough.

Glad to see that you used the search feature though wording can be tricky. There is a ton of information already posted so that is a great place to start looking for help

Will wait for your response - Again Welcome

That would make your Mustang a 1968. Year builds start in August of the previous year so your "scheduled" assembly date would be December of 1966.
When I think of "service stickers", I think of either dealer service or an oil change at a friendly (and cheaper) gas station and that type of sticker usually wound up on the driver's door at the rear. There are other "stickers", usually semi-permanent "decals" (advertised and sold as decals), on the air cleaner, by the starter solenoid, on the front of the left hand shock tower and elsewhere, that describe equipment.
I you don't have a set of 1967 Mustang Assembly Manuals, I suggest you invest in a set for you car. Many questions are answered, and there are plenty of answers to questions yet asked in them.

Hi and Welcome
One great source for decals, is ECS Auto.   If you go to Ford, then Decals, and you may click on each decal.  There will be a description of what it is and where, in general, it would be.
Link below to their 67-70 "Service" decal.  And the write up states the general locations they were located.  Remember, the people on the assembly lines job was to "Get it stuck on" and in a general location.  Even by shift, they would be differences.

1969 Mustang Coupe, 302-2V, auto, air, PDB, Lime-Gold.  In the family since 1972
1969 Mustang Mach 1, 428 CJ Ram-Air, Auto, air, PDB, PS, Grabber Orange.  Self restored (for the most part).
2008 Mustang GT Convertible.  Weekend driver.

Always looking to learn and improve the cars.

Guess you meant to write 1966 rather than 1967. Hope this is correct or we will need to alter/rewrite some of this thread

If for pictures and or locations for all of the engine compartment decals/stickers search turned up some of the following which would apply to your car originally as well as many others. Search words were "67 decals"

Sometimes you can find pictures to answer your questions in the Unrestored Picture Threads listed by production year. You can find them lower down the list on the main page.

As often mentioned in this sort of thread we recommend that you don't buy one of the decal "kits" sold by many vendors just because these are often the lowest quality and they typically include a number of decals that are not original to your or other owners cars.

Assuming that you meant that you have a NJ built 67 Mustang completed in December 1966 here are just four pictures of original service decals and how workers placed them. Appears that there were a number of different ways (orientation) that the worker on each shift choose to apply this specific decals if they even considered it. They might have given it some thought since its rarely applied like the assembly manuals/Ford engineers in the big office, wanted them to apply it.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

ECS is a great source IMO for decals. A number of members have donated or worked with them to get some decals made and available or improved over what other suppliers provide. There are also a few areas where addition research should be done to determine if what they have is correct for your specific car and plant. They are few that I'm aware of but just a not of caution and responsibility on each owner or builder like most details.
