1967 Mustang / Air Inlet & Filter Mounting Brackets - 390 with Smog
« Last post by krelboyne on May 14, 2024, 10:08:13 PM »
I believe that the one on the far right was used only in 1966, Ford casting number C6AE-9B453-B. 1967 Engine Assembly manual calls out this part for both, 240-6 and 390 engines.

The middle bracket (which is a modified version of the above bracket) has been found on an early (Sept 1966) S code Mustang. Documented by Tim Lea in an old post. Number stamped C6AE-9B453.

The C7AE-9B453 bracket (far left) has been mentioned in older posts as being correct for 1967. It does not show up in my MPC's, indicates "C6AE-9B453-B for 1966-67 390 and 289 with A/C".
It does appear in the 1967 engine assembly manual, Pages 120-121. Part number called out as C7AE-9B453-B.
*Note, also used on 289-2V and 289-4V with A/C

For installation on 1967 cars, anyone have a query of when the changeover may have occurred?

1969 Mustang / Parking brake cable from pedal removal
« Last post by 88s69Mach1 on May 14, 2024, 10:02:55 PM »
Howdy! At a total loss as to how to remove the cable from the parking brake pedal that goes through the firewall!! The cable seems to just be press fit into the hole with rubber around the cable housing but I can't seem to get it to budge... The cable is disconnected from the pedal and from the rear cables that go to the drums...

Hopefully someone can help me out a bit with this one....  Thanks!!!

1966 Mustang / Re: C4ZE Y1 4 Speed Radiator Questions

I have a C4ZE Y1 (4th. wk of April 1966) 4 speed radiator that I will be having flushed/pressure tested at a local radiator shop.  Should the radiator be painting semi-gloss black? Also, for what prices have these been sold?
When new they were more on the glossier side of semigloss spectrum however after a few heat cycles the paint typically dulls down .

1966 Mustang / Strange Build Date 10 V
« Last post by D0ZZ70MACH on May 14, 2024, 09:20:47 PM »
Hello all.

Here's one that I've not seen before but hopefully someone else has an answer. The build date on the door data plate of this Dearborn built 1966 A code is 10V. Since Ford used A-M for the month codes, could this simply be mis-stamped by the factory? I won't have access to the car until Thursday to confirm the build date / date stamps of various components on the car.

Thanks for the help!!!

1970 Mustang / Re: 1970 Mach 1 with white hood, shaker and decklid stripes.

The hood stripe formula I used was:

1 part White - 48488
1 part Flattener  - T1F271

The deck lid is a tape stripe, so not much choice.

The shaker scoop was painted by the supplier, so it wasn't textured and was more than likely slightly different than the hood stripe.
