Wanted Ads / Pass side HP exhaust manifold Dec '65 to 1st week Feb '66
« Last post by 21.04 on May 27, 2024, 05:11:08 PM »
Looking for a good pass side Hi-po exhaust manifold.  Need it dated Dec '65 to approx first few days of Feb '66.  No damage or severe rust that would leave pits when cleaned up.  I do have a Sept 1, '65 manifold I can trade if needed.  Photos of the Sept 1, '65 manifold attached.

If anyone is holding onto an nos pair of HP exhaust manifolds, I also have a 3-29-66 and 4-13-66 nos matched pair with original boxes I would trade for approx12-1-65 to 2-1-66 pair as well.

1968 Mustang / 68 Radiator Support Plug Buttons
« Last post by dkknab on May 27, 2024, 04:23:21 PM »
On either side of my radiator support I have a square hole about 3/4 inch wide and 3/4 inch tall.  Is this the same hole as listed on the assembly manual? Per the assembly manual for the body page N8-8105-1, it calls for a plug button 376966-s listed as item AD. That's a round plug for a square hole. Doesn't make sense but is that correct? Also the assembly manual just refers to a hole on the left side. I have a similar hole on the right side too.

1970 Mustang / Re: What is the correct paint for Mach 1 rocker moundings?
« Last post by Coutu on May 27, 2024, 01:36:50 PM »
Hex 868992

Is this a match to the original, matte-looking dark argent? I too am in the same spot as the OP as the 4 cans I got from NPD are just way too dark and the metallic flake is throwing me off as well. I understand pictures online can be a bit deceiving, but my rocker trim is way too dark with this paint. It doesn?t look bad, but it looks like the common mistake of painting them black and I have way too much time into prep work and blasting to settle on something incorrect and I want to do the car justice.

The back sides of my trim (37k mile original paint car) is completely different than what NPD sells in the can (AP-GPA). Not putting NPD down- I have spent thousands there and have absolutely no complaints. I am almost wondering if the batch got mixed wrong? Or if i made a mistake on the part number? If memory serves, the correct color is dark argent, not this charcoal metallic?

Don?t mean to hijack the thread, but any help would be appreciated!

1970 Mustang / 70 - 428 SCJ paint mark detailing question
« Last post by DaveF on May 27, 2024, 10:24:59 AM »
I have been looking at pictures of correctly ( hopefully) detailed 428 engines, to get detailing ideas for mine.
I have seen several marked wit a handwritten number 2 on the front of the left l cylinder head. Can anyone tell me what this means and if it is something that my motor would have came with. I have looked in the library, but didn?t see anything that addresses that particular paint mark.

Parts for Sale / Re: NOS C7ZZ-3494-A 1967 Mustang Power Steering Hose

It's a 7/16" wrench size versus a 1/2" wrench size. He has the early one.

Not sure if a GT-350 would use the big block PS pressure hose. My guess would be no.

C7ZZ-3494-A (engineering number stamped C7ZA-3494-B)

This is a one year only power steering hose that connects to the pump high-pressure hose at the insulator and then routes down to the valve body.

The Ford MPC indicates this hose was used up to June 19, 1967 production but actual changeover date on the production line varied due to production line stock. If your car's production date is close to this change over date you should check your control valve port size. If your car was built after 6-19-67 you will need the larger port C7ZZ-3494-B hose. (This information was attained from Dead Nuts On Concourse Restoration Website)

This hose has the smaller 7/16 inch control valve fitting for the early control valve, not the ? inch control valve fitting used on the later cars with the larger valve.
This hose has the small FoMoCo logo die stamped next to the engineering number, reproductions don?t. From my research, this hose is correct for early 67 HiPo 289 and 390 and early GT350/GT500 cars with the smaller control valve.

Asking $225 plus shipping

Believe the early hose has a 1/4" control valve fitting.  The later hose has a 5/16" control valve fitting.

I can't find the part number for this clip and it is odd that I have this clip and not the strap.

I have an extra one. PM me if you need it.
