I have a good used cover which I removed from a RUG - AW trans and replaced with a new cover. No part number but only LM on the top surface.

I have used PPG Duracryl DDL 9381 textured black on 1970 Mach1 and Boss 302 applications.

1968 Mustang / steering column shims for non-tilt
« Last post by Mark F on May 16, 2024, 01:37:24 PM »
Hi,

Wondering if anyone has tried using shims on a non-tilt steering column to lift the steering wheel. It is mentioned in the "Introduction to the 1968 Ford Product Line" shop manual on page 27 - Mustang Steering Wheel Height Adjustment. Would like to know what amount of height increase you might get, before I go ahead and source the shims and install them. Looks like they are the same shims used for caster/camber adjustment on early mustangs, and possibly for fender shims as well. Thanks for any insights.

Thank you for the information.

Did the 65 66 radiators all have the radiator opening off to the side or were some in the center?

Guess your asking about a V8 radiator based on your first post. To see examples of where the radiator intake and discharge locations I suggest that you just look at the dozen or so examples in the unrestored picture section of the site.  ;)

1966 Mustang / Re: Strange Build Date 10 V
« Last post by J_Speegle on May 15, 2024, 07:53:47 PM »
Thank you for the confirmation.

In that case a very late build. I believe the last day of Mustang production at Dearborn was 8/12/1966.

Of course the 10V was the date guesstimated back when the order came in and the Aug 12th would have been a date arrived at from different sources and reasons  :)

As we know and accept the date stamped on the door/warranty tag is often not the build date, the date the car was completed or even started on.

When new they were more on the glossier side of semigloss spectrum however after a few heat cycles the paint typically dulls down .

+1 as we've mentioned many times before  ;)

Just a couple

Bob,

Good to know, thanks for the response.  Mine came back smelling like gas had been in it so I assume that was the test run leftover fumes.  Best to verify before trust I guess.  Wish my motor was done to make sure but that's the choice I made.

"If anyone has FIRST hand experience with someone who can rebuild a 4300 and make it run properly there are a lot of us out here that would like to know"

Team,

Drew podjednic from air fuel spark recommended all state carbs in New York.  www.allcarbs.com.  Jarrod was great to deal with and my 70 Mach 1 4v D0OE-AD autolite came back looking amazing.  They test them all before sending back.  However I don't have my motor done to verify anything.  Just my experience so far.

I had recommendations to send my last 4300 there too . It has been about 2 years ago . It looked great when I got it back however It didn't run or idle well like I expected given it was to be tested on a running engine prior to shipping.  I was waiting on the carb to come back because it went on a sold car that the new owner knew that the carb was being rebuilt . I understand that the new owner had problems with it too. I don't know if the problem got solved .
