Videos seem to be all the rage these days....we probably need to start a new video library section in our forum here and then have content to watch on Saturday nights and have weekly premiers hosted by the moderators.  The video section can be broken down by years like we do with everything else.

Parts / Re: I need a new windshield, PS auto glass or ECS?
« Last post by rare70cat on May 31, 2024, 06:55:05 PM »
I bought from ECS and it came with a metal pad embedded in the windshield! Not the button but a pad that the button attaches to. Totally NOT correct. I paid $450 for the glass and my date code etched into the glass and $300 shipping for a windshield that is not correct. Charlie, the glass guy at ECS, is having a hard time finding glass without the pad. I told him I would not have bought the glass if I knew about the pad. Since they are Mopar guys I asked him if any Mopar glass came with that pad and he said no and I said neither did Ford or Mercury. So be sure to ask about the metal base pad.

1964 1/2 - 1965 / Re: Convertible rear ash tray handle direction

My July 2-64 convertible has both like your left hand tray. Flat side is to the rear, toward the bin. Angled front toward the front edge.

Took me a while to figure out what you all were talking about then I think it clicked.  Here's a screen shot from your engine compartment video Marcus showing the blue bypass hose.  Enough said.

Ha ha....well.....I keep seeing all these questions and we have virtually an exact copy of the original posters question here to look at that would be helpful.  IVe mentioned it before...doesnt get any better for what he is building.

Wanted Ads / Re: WTB Cardboard Concours Correct for 68 no AC
« Last post by Bob Gaines on May 31, 2024, 01:27:02 PM »
Thanks Bob.  After I took mine out and noticed it was beat up I did a quick search and discovered it didn't appear one of available.  I put mine back in the car.  The good news is almost all the broken or previously repaired sections of the cardboard are out of sight.  Being under the dash helps.

I'll stay on the lookout for an original that could be repaired and still open to someone who has one they can pay with. The part number is C4ZA-18471-C. Does that mean the plenum fits in many year cars or does the ending C mean there are changes just for the 68?
Yes the same plenum fits 65-68 . There are typically ink stamped date codes but those are typically invisible once installed.  Ironically the last Ford service replacement before going obsolete in Fords inventory system was made of plastic. Most likely that is why the repro was made that way. It is the common MO initially for the aftermarket to take the last Ford service replacement before going obsolete and use it as a yardstick (right or wrong) to make the reproduction from. Since no one complained and they keep selling them there is no reason to change. Up until concours venues started to deduct for the plastic has there been a effort to educate the enthusiast about the historical difference. Hopefully if enough people complain about it being made of plastic eventually the aftermarket will have a incentive to change from plastic.

1970 Boss / Re: Shaker vacuum line
« Last post by RoyceP on May 31, 2024, 11:22:32 AM »
Might anyone know where to acquire the blue stripped vacuum line that runs from the tee to the vacuum canister on the back of the mid-plate? What's generally available is for the flat hood air cleaner and that line is 22". It's definitely to short, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan

This kit is labeled "Distributor vacuum lines" but it includes all the vacuum hoses. https://www.martiauto.com/itemselection.cfm?item=DVK-1&selecteditem=yes
