65 Dearborn VR suppressor location
« on: January 07, 2020, 12:29:00 PM »
I have a December 64 built Dearborn  convertible (with power roof, don't know if that makes a difference )
I would like to add the noise suppressor at the VR but don't know the exact location.

Does anyone have a photo that I could use ?

Thanks

Sorry I could not find a clear picture taken from under the area/voltage regulator for that year and plant

It was mounted to the bottom mounting screw and faced towards the outside/drivers side/plug side of the car

Picture barely shows the wire leading to it below

Don't know since I've not ordered one. Not sure if the one closest to the fold (if in place) would allow it to be slipped over the plug at the end with ease but you will have to check when it gets there.

I'm assuming by now you received the red tag and installed it.  Would you be able to post a picture of what you ended up doing please? I need that tag too but am not sure how it gets stapled in place from the earlier picture. It does look like the tag is folded in half them stapled near the wire I believe.

Its stapled very close to the wire to keep if from slipping around and at the end (minus maybe 1/8" -1/4" ) from the very end to hold the ends together and make the print easier to see

Will look for a better picture to post

Hope this helps
