OK, so the center ribbed part of the floor console, I am thinking it is painted Argent but were the ribs exposed chrome originally or is that something that wore off over time?

It wasn't painted, it's part of the chrome process.

Not sure that you can make out the detail in this photo of an NOS shifter plate, but the recessed areas between the ribs has a grained texture that gives it more of a ?soft? silver appearance.
