I don't think that you are aware of the differences given your other posts about your car. A concours correct 67-70 restored PS idler that would pass in Thoroughbred /Survivor (has the correct engineering numbers ) typically trade hands in the 600.00 plus range. NOS ones would typically be more. There are OEM replacements that look the same but don't have the Ford engineering numbers that will pass in trailered concours and also the other class's that sell in the 250-350.00 range.

Thanks Bob.  I did forgot what my issue was so I went back to my earlier posts.  I have an idler arm with a castle  nut, not the correct locking nut. The finish is incorrect too.

Yes the one you describe falls in a third non original looking category that you can expect deductions if a knowledgeable judge notices it. Of course it may go unnoticed if there are are a lot of other incorrect things that take attention away from it. As a alternative you could fit a correct looking locking nut and refinish the outside of your repro replacement. That will be worth the trouble if all other aspects are comparable to a assemblyline unit given I haven't seen what you are using.

So does anyone have an idler arm that can't be repaired or is too far gone that maybe I could get the holy grail of idler arms... the nut and washer?
