Rear glass weatherstrip
« on: December 18, 2024, 04:19:05 PM »
I?ve read posts discussing trimming the aftermarket rear window seals so that its easier to install the stainless trim.   Im wondering which surface on the seal is trimmed.  Is it the surface that faces upward or rather the outer facing surface aka the perimeter.

If my description is murky, i can try to post a picture.

Thanks
Adrian

On mine, it was the thin rib on the top surface (once mounted) that needed trimming. And only a 6" or so portion of it running vertically up from the bottom corners.

It was trimmed on the car after trying to snap the trim on and finding that the trim didn't fit together where the trim joints come together in the lower corners. I used a razor blade and very carefully removed the rib.
